Meath County Council is considering to reopen Blackwater Park in Navan on a phased basis.

It was closed by Gardaí in late March because of overcrowding which broke Government restrictions on social distancing amid the current Covid-19 restrictions.

However, the council says it is putting together a road map for reopening and restoring services at the park on May 18th, based on the phased roadmap set out by the Government last week.

It’s also considering if the park could be reopened sooner for over 70s, who were cocooning up until this week, however a council spokesperson emphasised that no final decisions have been made.
