Meath county council have forwarded the following statement in relation to the allocations of houses in Duleek.

We publish it without comment, but note it does not apologise to anypne who received letters informing they were successful applicants , only to be later sent letters telling them that in fact they were not.

Meath County Council, in conjunction with Respond Housing Association, welcomes the delivery of 50 new social homes in Duleek, of which the first phase is currently being allocated. This development will have a significant impact on the social housing waiting list for Duleek.

The Council, however, feels obliged to respond to a number of inaccuracies posted on social media recently regarding the allocation of these houses.

The Council has undertaken a full review of the matter and is satisfied that its staff acted in good faith at all times and in accordance with the Council’s allocations policy.

Further, the Council has requested that the inaccurate social media post be taken down and it is also considering what other appropriate follow-up actions may be required
