A controversial planning application, to develop three apartment blocks on a green area , in Millbourne estate in Ashbourne, has been refused by Meath county council.
Developers Rybo were notified of the decision earlier this morning and now have a four week period to appeal the decision to An Bord Pleanala.
The proposed location for the development was at the centre of a stand off between residents and representatives of the builders at the weekend which needed the intervention of local councillor Joe Bonner to mediate a resolution.
The main stated reason for the refusal was, ‘it would result in lack of any substantial open space in the permitted residential area.’
Bonner told Meath Live ‘I very much welcome what I would see as the correct and sensible decision.’
