Meath county council have denied that a second investigation, this time an internal one, into the allocation of work, is ongoing.

Meath Live revealed earlier in the week that the Standards in Public Office (SIPO) commission is at the preliminary inquiry stage it has to go through before deciding whether or not to investigate the outcome of an internal investigation in MCC into a similar situation.

Sources have told us that staff member is currently suspended from duty pending an investigation into their links to a South Meath company.

However, a council spokeswoman, responding to questions forwarded to them, said earlier today, ‘There is no suspension or investigation in Meath County Council regarding the below.’
