The family of the youngster whose 21st birthday party in the Headfort Arms, in Kells, was raided by cops last Saturday week said ‘No comment’ when approached by Meath Live to offer their version of events.
However sources have revealed that the family would ‘have a different view of things than others involved might.’
We told yesterday of how the Sunday World reported on how the party was raided by cops acting under the new powers given to them during the Covid 19 pandemic.
It was also revealed that hotel owner Olivia Duff had cooperated with cops on the night but had asked the national newspaper not to publish the story and claimed to be unaware the event was taking place.
When we approached the family of the person whose party it was they politely declined to comment, but sources suggested to Meath Live they may hold a different opinion on events.
One said, ‘They wouldn’t agree with everything that was said in the newspaper that’s for sure, and the whole story may emerge in time.
‘The family is a well respected one and they don’t deserve to be scapegoated and are adamant they won’t allow that to happen.
‘I’m sure when the time is right they’ll give their version of events and it may surprise a few people when they do.’
