The Health Service Executive has told Meath Live that a risk assessment of the situation,  that has seen two Navan businesses in the Beechmount area reveal staff have tested positive for COVID 19, is likely to be carried out.

Bird’s SuperValu in the Beechmount shopping complex and An Daoine  Oga, a creche, based in the nearby industrial estate, have both confirmed staff members with positive tests.

A HSE spokesperson said. ‘The HSE cannot comment on individual cases or outbreaks as to do so would breach our duty of confidentiality to the individuals concerned. Maintaining confidentiality is not only an ethical requirement for the HSE, it is also a legal requirement as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) along with the Data Protection Acts 1988-2018.

‘When our Departments of Public Health respond to notified cases or outbreaks of Covid-19 they undertake a risk assessment of the situation and appropriate investigations are undertaken and control measures put in place..
In response to questions put to them An  Daoine Oga made it clear they won’t be replying, a spokesperson said, ‘Thanks for showing interest, we have made a statement already and there will be no further comment.’
