The Meath branch of the Vintners Federation are protesting outside the offices of local ministers  today over the continued closure of ‘wet pubs’.

Publicans around the county will gather at the constituency office of Fianna Fáil Deputy and Minister of State for European Affairs Thomas Byrne’s constituency office in Ashbourne from 10am.

Separate groups will then go to the offices of Fine Gael Ministers Helen McEntee and Damien English in Kells and Navan.

It follows reports over the weekend the Government will allow pubs which don’t serve food to begin operating again by the middle of this month.
