A teenage boy has appeared court in connection to a fire in Oldcastle last weekend.

The 17 year old, who cannot be named for legal reasons was arrested and charged with arson at the Co-Op building at Railway Yard on Saturday night.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, however Trim District Court today heard the damage caused by the fire is estimated to be in the region of €200,000 to €300,000.

Judge Cormac Dunne remanded the accused on bail under conditions, including a daily curfew, to appear before the court again on February 2nd next.
