Independent councillor Nick Killian has slammed local TD’s who voted through motions in relation to imposing restrictions on one off rural housing developments.

Councillors are currently discussing the county development plan and the Ratoath based Killian believes they have been placed in a straitjacket by TD’s actions.

He claimed, ‘I think it is time the people of Meath realise we as councillors will have to adopt a strong stance in relation to the proposal that one off rural housing is going to come to an end, that will devastate small villages throughout county Meath.

‘That has happened because TD’s voted the legislation through and now they want to step off to one side and want us to take the blame for their actions,’
