Fianna Fail councillor Tommy Reily has told Meath Live it is a matter of urgency that the council puts its best foot forward and gets community facilities in place for Johnstown.
Councillors have voted to rezone lands and make an area available to various local sporting organisations.
The decision was made this week during meetings to progress the Meath County Development Plan, which have gone ahead online despite recent protests.
Reilly. Who has lifelong connections with Walterstown GFC which serves the area, said, ‘We now have land zoned for community facilities which can facilitate the boxing club, the karate club and the gaelic football club.
‘We will have a17 acre park coming on stream which will benefit the soccer club and I am now calling on the community section of MCC to pull all this together and get things moving as soon as possible’.
