Over Christmas Navan Town Centre was supporting Meals on Wheels by donating €5000 directly to the charity and asking the local community to join them in backing this cause.

Meals on Wheels provides hot meals to elderly and vulnerable adults who are unable or find it difficult to cook for themselves. Due to coronavirus, the service has seen an increase in demand and now more than ever they rely on the help of volunteers and donations.

Centre Manager Pat Mullaney also took up the challenge of a trolley dash in Tesco and customers were asked on social media to guess the value of the shopping and donate in store and online.

After weeks of training and rallying support of the local community, when push came to shove, Pat filled the trolley with €296.27 worth of goods from Tesco. Congratulations to Fiona McConkey who was the closet guess!

Don’t forget you can still donate to Meals on Wheels in centre or via our Facebook Page. Meals on Wheels
