Two stalwarts of Meath camogie,Emily Kelly and Aoife Maguire have announced their retirement from the inter-county camogie scene.

Both players have been an integral part of Meath teams for many year

The dup played pivotal roles when Meath claimed All Ireland junior honours in 2012 and the All Ireland Intermediate title in 2017.

Meath’s run in the 2020 All Ireland Intermediate championship was brought to a halt by Down at the semi final stage but Maguire finished the season in style when picking up the Player of the Match Award and helping her club Killyon to the county intermediate title.

She was also the inspirational skipper as the Royals stormed to the Division 2 camogie league title in 2016.

Emily Kelly (nee Mangan) has been the Meath shot stopper supreme for over a decade.

Her performance in the 2012 All Ireland decider was outstanding and the Blackhall Gaels No.1 picked up a camogie All Star  in 2017.
