A status yellow snow and ice warning has been issued for Louth and Meath.
The alert is valid from 6am until 6pm today and will also come into effect in Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Westmeath, Donegal, Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Wicklow, Offaly as well as all of Connacht.
Met Éireann says there will be wintry falls with some accumulations possible.

Today: Staying cold and rather windy this afternoon with further outbreaks of rain. Highest temperatures of three to six degrees, in fresh to strong and gusty easterly winds. The rain will gradually clear by evening.
Tonight: A mostly dry night with lowest temperatures of minus one to plus three degrees with frost forming under good clear spells. Easterly winds will continue moderate to fresh and gusty.
Tomorrow: A very cold and wet day tomorrow with rain and falls of sleet and snow. The sleet and snow mainly over high ground and northern parts of the province. Highest temperatures of two to five degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty easterly winds.
