A first-year student of Drogheda Educate Together school recorded a song to voice her frustrations at the controversial relocation of her secondary school seven kilometres on the other side of the town.
Angry parents and students of the school have blasted proposals to relocate the school from its current location in Mill Road, Colpe, East Meath, to the grounds of St Olivers Community College, on the Rathmullen Road.
Sienna Stanley recorded the emotional song Stop Take Action Now (S.T.A.N), a version of the Eminem song with lyrics by a local rap artist Mick Lennon and a guitar instrumental provided by James Kelly to express the frustrations of both parents and students at the move.
With this passion for singing, the thirteen-year-old first-year student decided to do something to raise awareness and help the campaign to stop her school from being relocated.
Currently, the Department of Education are still pressing ahead with its decision to relocate the school. The department has said that the move will allow the school to cater for 1,000 students as the population of the Drogheda and Laytown areas continues to grow.
