It’s time to let go with Lego as the closing date nears for Meath County Councils Lego Building competition.

It’s time to get building for our Engineer’s Week Lego Building Competition 2021.  We’re going virtual this year so we want you to send us photos of your creations and we will display all the entries on our website.  Voting will take place online during Engineers Week from Saturday February 27th – Friday March 5th.

We have 2 age categories:

Category 1: Ages 6 and under

Free Build

Let your imagination run wild. Use Duplo or other lego – whichever works for you.

Category 2: Ages 7 to 12 (or up to and including 6th class pupils) :

Themed Build : Stories

This year’s challenge is to engineer a story!  We want you to create your favourite book character from lego bricks. Or you could re-create a scene from a book you’ve read and loved.   All builds should be your own original creation and not built using instructions from a Lego set.

Prizes will be awarded in 2 categories for both age groups:

  • Judged Entry  –  judged by a guest engineer.
  • Crowd Favourite – all entries will be on display on our website during Engineer’s Week from Saturday 27th of February to Friday, 5th of March.

Voting will take place online to determine the “Crowd Favourite”.

The winners will be announced on Friday, 5th of March.
