A new section of Whitecross National School at Julianstown, which has 400 pupils, is set to be completed in June.
Originally scheduled to open last year the Covid delayed new build is now almost completed.
Principal. Patrick Doran, said, ‘The work will be finished on June 3
0th and pupils starting back in September will enter a brand new building, work on restoring the school grounds will end in August.’
Local TD, Fergus O’D owd said, ‘I was very pleased to organise the visit of the then Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in 2019 to turn the first sod, and am delighted that will be a state of the art campus will welcome the students back after the summer break.’
