The Facebook page Meath Crime Prevention is reporting the robbery of a large number of valuable plants from Athboy.
Gardaí in Kells are investigating the theft of 200 laurel plants which were stolen from a field in Gillstown, Athboy.
They were taken between May 6th and 12th.
The hedging was planted at the time of the theft and would have taken a considerable time to remove.
The plants are unique owing to their size, 1.4 -1.5 metres in height and the fact that they are root balled. These plants were imported from Holland and the combined value of them is €1,800.
