A motion in relating to the setting up of parklets in Navan, which was put forward by FG councillor Yemi Adenuga was passed at the last MCC monthly meeting and has received widespread support from local business owners.


Adenuga posted on social media that she was delighted that her motion passed and thank her colleagues, business owners, Navan Cycling Initiative, Dara McGowan from Meath County Council and Paula McCabe from Meath Chamber who helped her contact businesses. She stated it was “hard work and smart work”.


The online response to her post was positive and immediate.


David Snow from Little Sicily restaurant revealed that he was “delighted the motion went through” that it was “great news for the town” and that it is “hopefully going to be a great Summer”.


Aidan Cosgrove from Room 8 café, claimed that it was “great news for the town today, looking forward to getting back open and serving you all delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner”.


Donal O’Murchu and Ed Moynihan from Navan Cycling Initiative both said that the motion passing was “great news for the town” and that it “will put a bit of life into it when business open up”.


Lastly, Damien Clarke from P Clarke’s Bar told Adenuga that he was “looking forward to opening up on the 7th of June, outdoor only”
