Gardai are investigating an incident in Athboy in which the driver of a vehicle that struck a young boy stopped and asked the victim on numerous occasions if he was okay before getting in his car and driving off again.
The incident took place on Wednesday May 12th at Connaught Street around 6.20pm.
The young boy stated that he fell to the ground before getting back on this feet.
The driver of the car stopped and asked the boy multiple times if he was all right.
The boy replied that he was fine and the driver of the vehicle then proceeded to travel down Connaught Street.
The boy suffered minor grazing and bruising.
Gardaí say they are anxious to speak with this driver but have no further details other than he was a man in his early 30s.
