Normally the only type of saving that occurs the AIB in Ashbourne is when customer deposits their hard earned cash in their account.
However, earlier this week staff at the Frederick Street premises were involved in a different type of saving – life saving-.
Quick-thinking staff rang Gardaí straight away after a woman collapsed outside the bank from a suspected cardiac arrest on Wednesday afternoon.
Ashbourne Gardaí quickly attended the scene with a portable defibrillator and used it to resuscitate the woman.
The woman was then taken by ambulance to hospital.
The installation of the defibrillator was a joint venture between Ashbourne Cardiac First Responders and Ashbourne Community Police.
