The sale of the parcel of land adjacent to Old Killegland graveyard by the Bishop Of Meath has netted the diocese €1,050,000.00 and it is not known if the funds will be used solely for Ashbourne parish or be used to fund the whole of the diocese of Meath.
Our exclusive pictures show that the sellers were St Finian’s diocesan trust, a limited company that administers all church property in Meath and whos directors include the bishop of the day and a number of priests.
Also listed on the sellers side of the Property Registration Authority document is St Oliver Killegland Trust, a limited company listed as the Grantee, whose directors include former GAA director general Liam Mulvihill.
There is no suggestion that the Killegland Trust has gained financially from the transaction..
The sale went through on May 12th and the purchaser was Killegland Estates Limited a recently formed company based in Leopardstown.
