Aontu’s Peter Whelan has told politicians and council officials. ‘Don’t demonize young people’
His call came after stringent criticism of youngsters who left a trail of litter behind them when gathering, for the first time in months, at various locations around the country last weekend.
In a video posted on Facebook Whelan argues that after being cooped up for months young people were just doing what young people do and that rather than attack them councils should be providing more bins and toilet facilities for them to use.
He suggests that if the youth are treated like young adults and not talked down to then they will behave more responsibly.
Have a listen and see what you think.
