Navan Fine Gael Councillor, Yemi Adenuga, who is also the chair of Ard Rí National School in Navan, ran her first ever 5k today alongside the School’s principal, Darragh Roe and a number of pupils to raise funds for student, Nahyan, who was diagnosed with high risk stage 4 NB cancer in May 2020, and who needs to receive treatment in New York City.

The family disclosed that the cancer that their son has, only has a survival rate of 40% and since the diagnosis they have been through “hell and back”. They said that “nothing about this journey has been easy. We were given 18 month treatment plan including Chemotherapy, stem cell transplant, surgery, radiation and immunotherapy”.

They claimed that once Nahyan finishes his treatment in Ireland they are working hard to get him on the Bivalent Vaccine trial at MSK Cancer Center, New York, as it is the only pediatric tumour vaccine in existence.

The family is looking to raise €375,000, they have raised €66,523 so far. They are still accepting donations at this link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-nahyan-fight-cancer?utm_campaign=p_cp_display&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer

Adenuga pleaded for everyone to “show some love for Nahyan” by “supporting the fundraiser” so he can “get on that plane to New York”.
