The town of Navan made a special appearance on RTÉ news last night as the station’s north east correspondent Sinead Hussey strode into the county town to speak to retailers about the reopening of business today.

 

Business owners revealed their excitement to be finally opening up again to the public even the doyen of the shopkeeping fraternity Jacksie Kiernan was on hand to express retailers relief at emerging from lockdown.

 

The Navan Cycling Initiative got a special mention, as they have been fighting for parklets, alongside Fine Gael Councillor Yemi Adenuga, to assist with outdoor dining for many businesses.

 

Navan Cycling Initiative said on Twitter that there was “such a great buzz around the town today as we welcomed RTÉ and prepared for outdoor dining to restart tomorrow”.

 

Adenuga said that she is “excited” for reopening day and that “Navan is the place to be this Summer!. She also commented that the “town looked good on RTÉ news”. She hoped that everyone would visit Navan this Summer.
