Balrath Woods has finally reopened after months of closure. There have been a few safety works carried out at the Woods, hence the closure.
Balrath Woods will close at 8pm during the Summer, if the carpark is full, visitors must not park on the roadside. Dogs must be kept on leads in the woods and the community/dog wardens will be enforcing this in line with the Park Bye Laws.
Navan based Aontú councillor, Emer Tóibín, who has been campaigning for the woods to open for months, was delighted that Balrath Woods was finally reopened. She took to Facebook to write: “Balrath Woods are finally open. They opened unofficially at the weekend but the walks are now available to everyone. Enjoy the walks, the trees, the birdsong and the fresh air”.
Sinn Féin TD, Darren O’Rourke, took advantage of that unofficial reopening, as he was spotted enjoying a family day out in Balrath Woods on the 6th of June.
