Sligo Rovers………………………..1

Drogheda United………………….2

A double from Chris Lyons saw Tim Clancy’s Drogs take all three points from the Showgrounds on Saturday night.

The third win in a row sees the freshly promotes side stay in fourth place just six points off leaders Shamrock Rovers and closing in on third place St Pats who are just three points ahead of them.

The striker opened the scoring at the Showgrounds nine minutes in, then brought his season goal tally to five with his second of the night just after the hour mark.

A last minute effort from Rovers’ defender Shane Blayney wasn’t enough to stop the Drogs pick up their seventh win of the campaign.
