A manhunt was ongoing, earlier today, in an area close to iconic rock venue, Slane Castle, after an unmarked Garda car was rammed in the county Meath village at quarter past nine this morning.

The collision took place at the crossroads in the middle of Slane and the two occupants of the car fled on foot.

At ten o clock a tweet from Slane Castle said, ‘ Slane Castle

Due to a local incident, Slane Castle grounds will be closed until further notice.

are on the grounds.

One eye witness told sundayworld.com, ‘Shortly after the crash the village was swamped with squad cars coming from every direction and the helicopter has been hovering over the Castle for hours now.

‘A number of Garda cars were seen parked at the rock concert entrance on the Navan road and a tow truck came and picked up the unmarked car which was fairly extensively damaged.

‘The search seems to be concentrated in and around the woods to either side of the concert venue.’
