A ‘Do Not Consume” and a Do Not Wash’ restriction that was in place for customers supplied by the Moynalty Public Water Supply since Sunday 20th June has been lifted with immediate effect.
In a statement Irish Water said, ‘Irish Water and Meath County Council carried out a programme of repair works at the plant, followed by a programme of sampling and monitoring of the water supply network.
‘Repairs have been completed and the results from our monitoring programme have confirmed that the water is now safe to drink and to use for the preparation of foods, washing of utensils, use in washing machines and dishwashers, and for personal hygiene. This lift notice is being issued following consultation and agreement with the HSE.
‘If anyone has any queries they can call the Irish Water customer care helpline 24/7 on 1800 278 278.’
