Fianna Fáil councillor Tommy Reilly, who was at the forefront of the fight against the decision to end the CE scheme at St Mary’s Special School in Johnstown which threatened to see the children go without hot meals, has expressed his delight at the reversal of the decision which was announced over the weekend.

He told Meath Live, ‘You can never be certain on these things but I was always optimistic common sense would prevail, as the school had a very good case to argue.

‘I am delighted that the relevant government department has agreed to reverse the call and facilitate the children in continuing to enjoy hot food daily.’
