A free walk-in COVID-19 testing site will open at County Hall in Navan on Thursday.

The Department of Public Health North East has seen an increase in cases in the Navan area in recent weeks.

75% of cases in Meath are in the under 40 age group, mostly unvaccinated and a small number of these people are seriously ill.

Dr Augustine Pereira, Director of Public Health North East is encouraging people in the Navan area, and especially anyone who is below the age of 40 who wouldn’t have had a vaccination yet to avail of the centre.

It will operate for 3 days – from 1 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, from 9.30 am to 7 pm on Friday and from 9.30 am to 6 pm on Saturday.

No appointment is necessary to avail of the service.
