An 80 year old man who is before the courts charged over an alleged arson attack in Co. Meath was today further charged with assaulting two women in the same incident.
Peter O’Brien, with an address at St Michael’s, Beauparc, was already charged with arson and endangerment of two named women at the same address on 19th May last.
The accused appeared at Trim District Court today, where Detective Garda Kathryn Christie gave evidence of having charged him with assaulting the two named women during the same incident.
The Garda said that in reply to the charges the accused said “I didn’t assault anyone”.
Judge Cormac Dunne remanded Mr. O’Brien in custody to appear at Trim District Court by video link on 3rd August next.
