A player who was injured in a Feile football game at Grangegodden between Kells and Ratoath tonight had to wait an hour and twenty minutes for an ambulance to arrive.
A source told Meath Live, ‘It was an accidental collision but the Ratoath player seemed to be knocked out, and in fairness to referee Eamonn Barry he stopped the game immediately and having realised the seriousness of the injury he actually rang for an ambulance himself.
‘Everyone was just standing around waiting and waiting, thankfully the young lad recovered but it took eighty minutes for an ambulance to arrive, it seems they sent one from Dundalk, and the young chap was taken to the Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.
‘It seems an extraordinary length of time to have to wait.’
We’ll bring you more on this when we have it
