Irish Water has announced that following consultation with the HSE, it’s issued a Do Not Consume Notice for customers supplied by the Batterstown public water supply
It says 98 customers are affected by the notice, following a Bromate excedance in the water supply.
The water is not safe for consumption or the preparation of foods, but is safe for hygiene and use in washing machines and dishwashers.
Irish Water says it’s especially important that mains drinking water is not given to bottle fed infants.
It’s also stressing that boiling the water will not reduce Bromate levels.
