A junior Minister has categorically denied any changes will be made to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan.
Speculation has mounted since last week that its Emergency Department and ICU capacity is to be removed and replaced by a medical assessment unit.
The HSE has remained tight-lipped on an ongoing implementation plan for the hospital which could see those downgrades take place.
Local TDs raised the issue in the Dái
l last evening, while Thursday will see a protest outside Leinster House and the Save Navan Hospital Group hold a public meeting in Navan.
Speaking on LMFM’s The Michael Reade Show, Junior Business Minister and Fine Gael TD for Meath West Damien English said reports over the past week about the facility are untrue and that there will be no downgrading of facilities.
