The Office of Public Works (OPW) says the annual Winter Solstice Lottery Draw will not be held for the second year running due to Covid-19.
Entrance to the Neolithic Passage Tomb in Co. Meath has remained closed to the public since the beginning of the pandemic.
However, the visitor centre at the UNESCO World Heritage site did reopen back in May in line with the easing of restrictions.
The Solstice Sunrise in December will now be once again be live-streamed the Solstice Sunrise.
The virtual event proved very popular to viewers locally and worldwide last year.
It also provided a unique research opportunity in 2020, where the movement of the winter sunlight coming through the roof box into the passage and chamber was scientifically measured and monitored.
