The chairman of the Save Navan Hospital campaign, Peadar Tóibin TD, has revealed he fears the A&E  in Our Lady’s will still be closed in the next six months, despite yesterday’s decision by the health minister, Simon Donnelly, to pause the proposed closure.

He told LMFM’s, Michael Reade show, ‘My instinct is the government will proceed with this in the next six months and that’s no good to us, we’re not looking for the government to pause this, we are looking for them to reverse this.

‘We want them to reverse forever the decision to close it.’

It has also been revealed that the group’s planned protest march in opposition to the closure scheduled for Saturday, October 30th is to go ahead.
