Fine Gael’s Helen McEntee will resume her position as Justice Minister from next month.
The TD for Meath East has been on maternity leave shortly before she gave birth to her son back in April.
The six months paid leave was subject to confusion given the lack of specific maternity arrangements for politicians in Ireland.
Minister Heather Humphreys had been managing the Justice portfolio, as well as the Social Protection and Rural Development departments in McEntee’s absence.
She’s today confirmed Minister McEntee will return to the role in the Department on November 1st.
