With the rising numbers in covid cases not seen last January, many hotels and restaurants are seeing large scale

cancellations in the run-up to the festive season.

What is normally a peak period appears to be floundering again for an industry that has had a tough time over the last twenty

months.

Speaking to some of the hotels and restaurants locally many are telling us that businesses have cancelled or put on hold Christmas

bookings.

It is being deemed socially irresponsible as one employer pointed out to us at Meath Live.net. The businesses have a responsibility

to do the right thing and hopefully, we can bring a positive result and fight back to reduce the rate of infection.

We are all in this together and hopefully acting together we can drive the rate of infection down.

Indeed some hotels in the county have made the decision to call off their  Christmas programmes.

Many of the companies are doing what appears to be the right thing to do at this moment in time.
