A bumper attendance flocked to Proudstown Park yesterday as Navan racecourse celebrated its 100th anniversary with the 2021 renewal of the Troytown chase.

And the crowd had reason to celebrate local success in the big race with Gordon Elliot trained Run Wild Fred justifying favouritism when winning in a cosy fashion.

It was Elliot’s second winner of the day as Hollow Games had come home at very short odds earlier.

However, the biggest cheer of the day was reserved for the last race when Castletown trainer Noel Meade saddled up The Model Kingdom which had the stands rocking as it streaked home.`
