Meath Live understands that a gun was discovered in a planned Garda search operation in a premises in the Johnstown area early this morning.
Sources have told us that a number of Garda vehicles were present at the raid which commenced at 5 am.
One said, ‘ The estate was flooded with Gardai from as early as 5 am and they were there until the middle of the morning, it wasn’t just the house they searched they were looking down sewers and everything.
‘It appears they found a gun, although it may have been a replica firearm, even when they had located that they kept at the task.’
Gardai have been contacted for comment.
