Aontu’s Peter Whelan

Aontú representative for the Laytown Bettystown area ,Peter Whelan is calling on all of the people who made submissions on the recent proposed waste water pipeline into the river  Boyne , to register for this important Zoom meeting on this coming Thursday 2nd December.

He told Meath Live, ‘This is our chance to have our voices heard on the management of our rivers in our county . This is a discussion which will shape the future of our waterways ‘.
Whelan who was instrumental in setting up the Facebook page “Save The Boyne “ says it is vital for as many people as possible to attend this zoom meeting .
“ Sometimes we give out and make submissions about these proposed developments and feel still powerless, but I am urging every single person, whether they made a submission or not, to attend this meeting.
‘This is a meeting discussing the future management of our beautiful rivers . Save the Boyne has roughly five thousand followers. This is the extent as to how important our rivers are to the great people of the north east .
‘Please have your say now and let’s give a signal to our government and planners to hold them to account . I remember as a young lad going fishing with my father and I could regularly drink the river water . I wouldn’t do that now. My vision is that our children will soon be able to do  exactly what I did as a young man .’
