Kentstown’s singing star Ella Kelly is having quite the time of it lately.

The ten-year-old managed to get through the first round of auditions for the hit TV show ‘Voice Of Britain’, got herself chosen to represent Ireland in the finals of the 2022 World Performing Arts Championship, and to top it all has a new single, ‘Do you hear what I hear’ coming out on Spotify tomorrow, (Friday).

Her Mum Anita can’t quite get her head around it but told Meath Live that Emma is taking it all in her stride.

‘I don’t know where she gets her voice from, there is no singers in my family., I am certainly not one but since she was two years old she has had a natural talent and has been singing away.

‘It may seem a bit of a cliche but when Ella goes on stage she transforms into something different she loses herself in the music and the song.

‘She also plays the piano but singing is what she loves, she even played the lead role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid at the Draoícht theatre in Blanchardstown.’

However, the big item on the agenda is the World Performing Arts Championships, which are due to take place in California next July.

Anita revealed, ‘It is basically the Olympics of the performing arts world, and it is run by age category, we sent the video we sent for the audition to Voice of Britain, the Irish officials liked it and she got on Team Ireland.

It will cost about €6000 for both of us to travel and we have started a Go Fund Me page to offset some of that.’

And the video below shows just what talent the youngster has.
