The latest Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) survey shows litter levels have risen slightly across the country, with cities again faring badly.

Dublin’s North Inner City has been branded a litter black spot at the foot of the table, despite showing some improvement.

Navan placed 28th out of the 40 towns and cities surveyed

The report stated about the county town, ‘Little change to report in Navan, which is again moderately littered. Navan Retail Park was an exceptionally freshly presented and maintained environment.

‘A number of years ago St. Patrick’s Terrace had been a littered site – not so this time around.   Some improvement was noted at St. Patrick’s Park but that was from a very low base, and it was still heavily littered.

‘The other heavily littered site was the Recycle Facility at Car Park – various items had been discarded to the rear of the units’.
