Skryne youngster Killian Cahill has left Shamrock Rovers to join Premier League side, Brighton.

A son of international athlete Sean Cahill the goalkeeper won the national under 19 league with the Hoops last season.

Local goalkeeper Killian Cahill is on his way to Brighton, after agreeing on a move from Shamrock Rovers.

The 18-year-old will be joining Bettystown’s Evan Ferguson on the English South Coast.

Killian has been with the Shamrock Rovers’ Academy since he was 11 years of age, and progressed from the Dublin and District Schoolboys League, through to the National Leagues.

As part of Rovers’ education programme, Killian is enrolled with Ashfield College and will sit his Leaving Cert this Summer.
He’ll continue with his studies and classes remotely through Ashfield, from his new base in southern England.
