Funeral arrangements have been announced for Dunboyne chef Peter Burns who died tragically in Denmark.

Dearly beloved son of John and Jane Burns and devoted twin brother of Katie. Peter will be so terribly missed by his loving and heartbroken family, his aunts and uncles Ellen & Frank McHugh, Kevin & Ann Burns, Gerard Burns and his dear cousins Paul McGovern, Soirse and Eorann Burns. Predeceased by his grandparents Frank and Peggy Miskell, Jim and Anne Burns, also his uncles Michael, Richard and Frankie.

 

Peter was born in Dublin and moved with his family to Dunboyne, Co. Meath in 1999 where he attended the local primary school, followed by St Peters secondary school. Peter moved to Denmark in October 2021 with his sister to gain international experience working as a chef. It was in Denmark he met with a tragic accident in early December 2021. Peter will be sorely missed by his wonderful friends and colleagues from the hospitality sector where he worked for many years as chef.

A celebration of Peter’s life will take place in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross at 10 am on Friday the 28th of January, which may be viewed through web camera at the following link:

followed by burial of Peter’s ashes at 12.15 pm with his grandparents in Moorechurch Cemetery, Whitecross Glebe, Julianstown, Co. Meath.
