Helen McEntee, the justice minister, had to return €4,000 in donations from companies controlled by Tayto Park owner Ray Coyle last year because they breached corporate donation rules.

Documents filed with the Standards in Public Office Commission (Sipo) show Coyle made three donations of €1,400 each to McEntee during her general election campaign in early 2020 through three companies.

The companies were Ashbourne Visitor Centre, the Ashbourne Oil Company and Irish Bison. The three donations, made by cheque, were all received on the same day by McEntee’s office.
