A Kentstown man has told Meath Live that he has been driven barking mad by having to make a round trip of 90km just so as he can walk his dog!
Gerry Carey owns Angus a loveable 7-month-old Schnauzer and he revealed, ‘ Angus needs to be off the lead and able to interact with other dogs, there are no dog parks in Meath, none that allow dogs off the lead, and there are none in Louth either as I bring Angus to St Anne’s Park in Raheny and regularly meet a guy from Drogheda who has to bring his dog up there.
‘Having to travel all that way is very inconvenient but I can’t see any way around it. although there are a lot of sites around Navan that would be ideal to be used for that purpose.
‘At one point Senator Sharon Keoghan tried to start one up in Duleek but when I asked her about it she said she shelved it because of pushback locally which was a shame.
