A 48-year-old woman was before Trim District Court yesterday accused of the theft of almost €15,000 from an employment scheme in Dunboyne.
Grainne Looney, with addresses at Leigh Valley and Moulden Bridge, in Ratoath is charged with 27 counts of alleged theft from Dunboyne Area Community Employment Ltd, The Old Schoolhouse, Dunboyne on various dates in 2019 and 2020.
The total sum allegedly involved is €14,918 and the thefts were alleged to have been carried out at Bank of Ireland branches in Dunboyne, Ratoath, Ashbourne, and Dunshaughlin.
The defendant is further charged with making a false auditor’s statement on October 22nd, 2020 and with submitting a fraudulent auditor’s statement at the Department of Social Protection in Navan on the same date.
Judge Miriam Walsh put the case back to the 12th of April.
