It was Castletown that made the best start to the game with the first three scores before Skryne registered their first within the first 8 minutes, two points coming from Declan Cribbin and another from Adam Matthews.
The first of Castletowns goals came from William Bellew on 12 minutes with a brilliantly taken shot while the Skryne keeper was off his line with the ball ending in the back of the net after dipping just below the crossbar. With the score now sitting at 1-3 to 0-01, Castletown registered 3 more unanswered scores – 2 points from Declan Cribbin and a further goal from Damien Ginnitty in the 21st minute of the game.
Within the last 8 mins of the first half, Skryne scored 3 more points along with Castletown scoring 2 – a point from a free for Kevin Ross and a point from play for Gerry Farrelly. Half time score had the home side ahead by 9 points – Castletown 2-7 Skryne 0-04.
Castletown started the second half with the same intensity shown in the first half with 3 more points from play within the first 8 minutes, 2 more points for Declan Cribbin, and a further point for Damien Ginnitty. Castletown went on to dominate most of the second half with Skryne registering 2 more points over the 30 mins with scores coming in the 9th and 15th minute of the half.
A strong display from the home side resulted in further scores from Mark Kelly, Kevin Ross, and William Bellew. With 10 minutes left of the game substitute, Kieran Weldon buried the ball into the back of the Skryne net leaving the home side ahead by 16.
