Patrick Boshell the owner of the Centra store in Bettystown that was gutted by fire on Sunday night has taken to social media to express his heartfelt thanks to the local community for their support since the tragic incident.

He posted;

Dear community 💚💛
We want to thank you all for your kind messages and continued support as always, it never goes unnoticed.
We are thankful to the emergency services who worked tirelessly throughout the night to help tackle the flames.
We are one of three businesses affected last night and our thoughts are with John Flanagan and his staff Jen Hy and Raeann Flanagan from An Post and Olimpio Macari and his staff.
We were made aware of fundraisers happening in our name and as much as we do appreciate it, we kindly ask that the money raised will go towards Darkness Into Light Laytown/Bettystown on May 7th
And a note to our staff, there are no words to describe how we are all feeling but we are all feeling it together ❤️
Like the whole community, Patrick is eager to get the ball rolling to rebuild his store and continue doing what he does best
Thanks again for your continued support at this difficult time
